Need help locating the part number?
The following illustrations should help. You may also wish to check our
application
lists for help in determining the correct part number.
Garret
/ Airesearch Turbocharger
Garret uses either a metal tag on the compressor housing, or a metal
tag attached to the center section. This tag always includes a
serial number, sometimes a model number, and either a Garret part
number, a customer part number or both. Since the information
varies from turbocharger to turbocharger it is difficult for us to give any concrete
guidelines. Normally a Garret part number (begins with a '4') or
the customer part number is enough information.
Holset
Turbocharger
Most Holset turbochargers have a small tag attached to the compressor
housing. This tag usually includes a) model number that normally
begins with a 'H', b) an assembly number, c) a serial number, and
sometimes d) a customer number. Either the customer number or the
assembly number should enable us to determine the required replacement.
For Cummins applications, a CPL (Control Parts List) number from the
engine data tag will also help.
Some Cummins 5.9 turbochargers (Dodge trucks) do NOT have a tag, or any
part numbers on them. In this case, it would be best to
contact us, or try our
application list.
KKK
Turbocharger
KKK turbochargers have a small metal tag attached to the compressor
housing. Since this tag is normally NOT in English, it is
important to note that the KKK part number normally begins with a '5',
and in most cases the model number begins with a 'K'.
Mitibushi
Turbocharger
These turbochargers normally have the model number, part number and serial
number stamped directly into the compressor housing. Model numbers
normally begin with a 'T'.
6.5
GM IHI Turbocharger
GM 6.5 turbochargers use a unique numbering system. A small tag on
the compressor housing includes 2 numbers. The 'GM-' part number
and a serial number. The serial number is stamped into the tag,
while the part number is painted on. As a result of this, the part
number is often very difficult to read. It always starts with 'GM'
followed by a number. See the GM
application chart for additional information.
